Earlier in chat today, everyone was sharing stories of their creepy experiences, and I'd love to read more!
Post here as much as you like <3 But Ala's rules still apply to this thread.

I'll share mine that I can remember:

A few months ago, I invited Craig over after school. We were completely home alone, and we went to the basement and hung out.
Around an hour later, we heard heavy footsteps above us. I thought my dad came home early, so we both had a mini heart-attack, because Craig wasn't supposed to be here.
I went upstairs, and checked the entire house. Even the garage and driveway. No sign of a person, and no cars. Craig left immediately.

A few months later, I had him over again. Same thing as last time, no one was home, after school, we were in my basement hanging out.
And once again, we heard those heavy footsteps.
I went to check the whole house again, and I came up empty. But my dogs were huddling in the laundry room. I never had Craig over alone again.

-----------------------------------

Last summer, my friend invited me to go on vacation with her. The hotel was full, so we stayed at her grandpas house.
The first night we were there, her grandpa was telling us about the odd occurrences that happens inside his house. (Hearing people talk, footsteps in the hallway in the middle of the night, cabinets opening, doors closing, etc.)
I did not believe what my friends grandpa was telling us, because I thought he was trying to play with my mind, since this was the first time I was there. Though, Rachel (my friend) believed him, supposedly because she had experienced everything he had said. But I still thought they were trying to trick me.
That night, me and Rachel were playing minecraft, and heard footsteps in the hallway. I thought her grandpa was just playing, so I got up and looked in the hallway. I even turned the lights on, but I saw no one.
I came back in the room, and Rachel looked a bit scared, and decided that we were going to go to bed.
The footsteps started back up again when we got comfortable. I once again went into the hallway, turned the lights on, and even went and looked in her grandpas room.
He's fast asleep.
The next day, I suggested that we find a different place to stay.

I still don't know if it was a prank or what, but it still gives me goosebumps.

So what are your stories?

Horror fiction most likely isn't a strong spot for me, but I tried my best.

Phoenix loved adventure; traveling to distant lands and finding riches in old caves and temples like any other felt great to him. He started exploring the world since fifteen, fifteen years ago. His hair and short beard were already grey.
He stood just inside the entrance of Lodrazhicon Cave. The last line of the song the local people sang to him at The Knight and the Penguin was still in his mind; “Miner beware he will never die”. Phoenix passed it as local myth.
The air inside the cave felt dusty to him as he walked through. A single torch was his only light. His footsteps echoed and strange sounds could be heard.
After about an hour and a half, Phoenix found himself deep inside, and his last torch was half used up. He found what appeared to be an old room of some kind. There was a single crate inside. He walked over cautiously to open it. Only two objects were inside the crate: a circular object with two square holes, parallel to each other in the center, and a book. He set both on the crate. He leaned his torch against the wall on top of the crate as well. The dust in the air felt so thick to him. He coughed a little because of it.
Phoenix intently studied the metal object. There was a piece on the edge that spun freely around. He pushed a little on that part and it clicked. He set it down and opened the book, turning the pages looking for a reference. He read a line that said “perpendicular and in.” He quickly picked the object up and turned the spinning piece to where it was perpendicular then pressed it.
A white glow appeared through the holes and the pages of the book turned by themselves. He pulled up the spinning piece. He heard footsteps that weren’t his own. They were coming from the tunnel behind him. It sounded like something was running at him. He backed against the wall. They got closer and closer until he could finally see what was coming. The phrase shot through his head right then. “Miner beware he will never die.”
hmmmm... well i do have 1...in my old house it used to belong to a police man, he was murderd by a bear in his back yard. i dint beleave them and i bought the house...that night i heard growling from the backyard. i looked and nothing was there. my dog seemed to have heard it too. i went back into my room and watched tv. i soon heard yelling and i ran downstairs. my dog was missing! i searched the house and found him hideing in a closet. wimpering. i knew something was wrong with my german shepher/husky then. so i sat in the living room...and i swear i heard yelling and gun shots, bear grunts and the sound of tearing limbs from back there...i didnt dare look but i soon saw a clear-figure almost like mist run past me. i felt like screaming but i just couldnt. it ran into the closet and amost instantly, my dog ran out. i looked in there and i saw huge eyes stareing at me and something laying infront of them. i relized it was the ghost of the bear and the man! i ran into the bathroom only to find the sound of crying and screamming...this must have been the ghost of his daughter and son! they desided to commit suiside on the same night...because there mom died earlier of a heart attack (bad luck family i guess O.o) and i soon heard a voice and it whispered "your next!" and then what realy spooked me...i never knew the guy who owned the house before me...was a school's science teacher. he had left his fake skeleton in the closet. i was screamming my head off and i called the guy and i said "there is a dead body in your closet!!!" and he just said "oops...i left my science skeleton there didnt i?" and then within the next week they went away..i soon moved and i still have nightmares about them o.e

Ive got a story......

Ever sence I was little, I have always felt sensitive to paranormal activity. My father had just went on tour and my mother and baby sister were the only ones home besides my cat, dog, and guinea pig which is located in a cadge in my room. You see, I tend to stay up late when noone is awake. I was on.the computer just surfing. Then I herd it. A male voice out my window. Mustering all the courage I had I dared to peek out my window. The porch light was on, but not a soul was outside. My guinea pig Hazel hid in the corner of her cadge uneasily... I knew when she did this there was almost always somthing there. I grabed her and put her in the confort of my arms, and she hid in my shirt shaking. The voice stopped and all was alright untill about thirty minutes later. I heard a dog barking out my window as if it was trying to harm me, I looked...but there was nothing. Hazel (still cowering in my shirt) tryed to bolt. I stopped her just in time before she would habe fell off my bed... I never went to sleep that nigjt with the fear of beimg watched.

Pool Ghost
-----------------------------

Not even a week ago, I was over at my best friend's house. I won't name names, so let's just call my friend Amy. Since Amy has a little sister who was there at the time, I'll call the sister Emma.
So, at about noon, Amy and I decided to go in the pool as it was super hot outside. We were in charge of running a lawn sale, as Amy's parents had left for a trip upstate, and had left us with Amy's grandmother and little sister, Emma. So we periodically had to get out of the pool, grab our towels, and run to attend the customers who wanted to ask this or that about the sale.
In one of the rare times that we had about a half an hour in between customers, I ducked under water. Being that I don't like to go under without plugging my nose, I had on the goggles that covered my nose too.
Much to my surprise, I heard a noise sort of like a scream, but much, much different. I bobbed up to the surface for air and asked Amy to dunk under with me. She nodded in agreement. Again, I jumped under the water. Again, the scream came, differently this time.
For the next half hour, we toyed around with the pool ladder, filter, pump, everything. We had Emma be completely silent and not even move. We went under the ladder several times, where we heard the noises increased. On one of these ladder expeditions, I clearly heard my name stated, threateningly. Amy was right behind me and heard the same.
As a few more customers rolled up, we took turns getting out while the other listened under the cool water. Several times I had chills after being in the water for a bit, like ice water had been filtered through my body. We heard voices, many of which couldn't be deciphered, and we heard laughs and cries of what seemed to be a baby.
"Amy," I asked once. "Has anyone ever died in your pool? Even come close to death? In specific, a small child?"
"No. This is a pretty new pool, we only got it a few years ago. If someone had died in it, I would have known. But I know what you mean, it sounds like a little kid. It sounds too little to be Emma though." We both agreed and ducked under once more.
Soon after that, as a customer drove up and wanted to know where to park, Amy had offered to get out and was heading towards the side of the pool to talk to the customer before climbing the ladder. I went under one more time.
"You should die" was the last sentence I heard before I went flying out of the pool, pausing on the ladder to talk to Amy in a very serious tone.
"Everybody out. NOW." I told her. She knew I was serious, and after we had directed the customer to the driveway, I relayed the info to her. She was creeped out, and we didn't go in the pool again, lying to Emma when she wanted to go back in the water. We told her something was seriously wrong with the pool and we couldn't go in right then.
It turns out we were wrong.
Not even three days after that, I went over with my mom to one of her friends' houses. Being that the lady had a pool that I loved to swim in, I hopped in after turning the pump on, and enjoyed it for a few minutes. I couldn't shake what had happened before at Amy's.
I went under a few times, heard nothing, thought I was fine. But I had a really bad feeling, this cloud of dread just clinging so tightly to me. I was honestly terrified. I kept swimming, remembering that entities feed off our energy and that our energy is hyped when we're afraid. I tried to make jokes with myself and finally was able to at least get rid of the majority of my fear. I still hopped out of the water every time the sun went behind the clouds, though. My dog, being tied to the deck steps as I didn't want her even thinking about jumping in the water (which scared her, but I wouldn't put it past my dog to come in just to say hi to her mom) helped to calm me down, and I felt a ton better after ten or so minutes had passed and nothing had happened.
Before I got in, I had seen a tube in the water, which I fooled around with, standing on it like a dog, paddling on it like a little kid, just relaxing. I believe I was on it when I saw a dark shape in the water.
My heart thudding, I watched the shape for a split second before diving off the tube and shooting towards the ladder. I lost track of the shadow when it hit the shadow created by the edge of the pool and the ladder. But as I flew up the steps, the dread returned and it felt like something was right behind me, trying to grab me and pull me down. I jumped off the deck, grabbed my dog, and ran for it. The wind seemed to whisper, and the pool leered at me from afar.
I had thought that was the end of my ghastly troubles. I know that I've seen many ghosts, and I'll see more, but deep inside I hoped I'd never see that one again.
A few days ago, I was sitting here, playing on my laptop, when the same phase I had heard in Amy's pool was whispered maybe a foot away from me. I froze, then kept playing on my computer, and time passed while nothing happened. I tried to keep cool.
The next day a dark shape, mostly black and dark brown, darted to and fro next to me, about two feet away from where I sat, again where I had heard the whisper. It was too agile, too fast, to be a mouse. (Speaking of fast, the shape in the pool was super fast, faster than me, and I was going about a mile a minute when I came out of that pool. As for clouds? When it happened, there were no clouds relatively close to it's small size - you can rule out a cloud passing in front of the sun causing it!) It jumped over he stuff beside me, darted around, ect., for about an hour before I got fed up (and scared!) and told my brother about it. He said "Oh, it's just a mouse. Quit joking around."
Later on, I did see a real mouse in the same spot, but that was a grey one, not black.
And time after time, I see dark shapes move around me from the corner of my eye or I'll hear undecipherable words whispered, inside when there's no wind.

I'll type the other ones later-- I have too much to do, too little time to do it in! Keep in mind this is a true story. <3

I have another too!

I was grounded from TV one day and so I went out with my friends Murissa and __(forgot name). They took me to his "Ghost house" but I didn't beieve them. then they told me a story. There once was a boy with a lollypop, who went in that house. he never came out and all that was left was his half-eaten lollypop. No one lived there and it was empty, everything was OFF but the water still worked. There was footsteps on the 2nd floor. We all ran out screaming and never went back.

The window was opened at once on the second story and I heard banging.

that same day, same house, my friend looked in the front door and saw a vision, a person with a knife killing his mom. I never went back there again.
